Accessibility statement

Our commitment
Build My Moment LLC is committed to providing a digital experience that is usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level on https://buildmymoment.com and measure our progress against that target on a continuing basis. Accessibility is a feature of the platform, not a bolt-on, and is considered at every stage of design, development, and review.
What we have done
- Built the marketplace with semantic HTML so headings, landmarks, lists, and regions convey structure to assistive technology.
- Added meaningful alternative text to platform-managed images and icons, and provided tools for vendors to add descriptive alt text to portfolio media.
- Made every interactive element reachable by keyboard, including menus, dialogs, the booking flow, and the calendar widget. Visible focus styles are present on all focusable controls.
- Designed text and interactive components to meet WCAG 2.1 AA color contrast targets, with additional contrast on key call-to-action buttons.
- Honored the user's prefers-reduced-motion setting so animation-heavy interactions, parallax, and smooth scroll wind down for visitors who request reduced motion.
- Built a responsive layout that supports browser zoom up to 200% and works on small screen and large screen orientations without loss of content or function.
- Used clear, plain language and short paragraphs for legal, vendor-facing, and planner-facing content.
Compatibility with assistive technology
As our accessibility program matures, we aim to test the Service against the latest stable releases of common assistive technologies, including:
- Screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
- System voice control on macOS, iOS, and Windows.
- Keyboard-only navigation and switch input.
- Browser-level zoom and operating-system magnifiers.
Ongoing audits and known issues
We are establishing a routine of accessibility audits using automated tooling (axe and Lighthouse) alongside manual review with assistive technology. Areas where we have active work include:
- Improving consistency of focus management across modal dialogs.
- Coaching vendors to add high-quality alt text on portfolio media uploaded before this requirement was emphasized.
- Polishing the keyboard interaction model on the availability calendar.
- Verifying that embedded PayPal flows meet AA standards and providing clear fallback guidance where they do not.
Reporting a barrier
If you encounter a part of the Service that is difficult or impossible to use, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as priority bugs and aim to confirm receipt within two business days and to resolve confirmed issues within thirty days where feasible.
When reporting, please include:
- The page URL where you encountered the barrier.
- A description of what you tried to do and what happened.
- Your browser, operating system, and any assistive technology in use.

Continuous improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a destination. As the platform grows, including planned expansion into equipment rental hubs and a mobile application, we will continue to test, train, and refine the experience so that everyone can plan a great event on Build My Moment.
